Site Updates, New Products

Over the past week or so, I have given ScottLee.name a new site update: changed its hosting over to a better package, changed the layout, upgraded WordPress (the PHP platform the website runs on), and have also begun the process of updating my other websites as well. Websites like Dirty Mechanism, I’m Not Gonna Lie, and some others are also kind of in the works development wise: Principles of Social Attraction and Barton Ct. Productions Database.

Basically, there is an incredible amount of work to do. Most of it consists of upgrading everything so that we can have nice, fresh websites that are working better than ever for 2009. I’m also beginning to experiment with bringing in more visitors to this website. I have made it a little bit of a goal to escalate this site’s listing in Google search results for “scott lee.” With a few tricks, the support of readers like you, and a little luck I believe I can succeed.

After all, I think I am probably more famous than those other Scott Lee’s anyhow. What other Scott Lee has had songs listened to over 15,000 times, articles read over 225,000 times, hundreds of t-shirts sold throughout the country, and gotten a local hometown following of about 5000 people? I have no idea about the others, but I know this one has! Alas, other Scott Lee’s on the internet, I challenge you to a duel of the search engines! YARR!

In the mean time, I’ll have to get to work on a considerable amount of content and I will have to figure out a particular niche to fit the site into. It seems like a bit of a stretch that I would be able to get considerable traffic by combining the topics of independent entertainment with psychology (especially in a clinical context), but who knows? Maybe something can be worked out. Or perhaps this site can focus on interesting little observations and studies I am conducting with my friends regarding social dynamics.

As usual, it is time to brainstorm!

Up until this point this website has only been here purely for the existence of housing information about myself and my projects. Now, it will have to, for at least some period of time, take on a particular theme in its written content. Who knows? Perhaps I will be able to tackle a number of different topics. After all, the point of coming to this site is having interest in me, and the depth of myself as a person, not what I’m writing about…right?

Wish me luck. ;)
